Team behind FERGO Invite Students to “Wear Your Story”
NEW YORK, NY – Collegiate Apparel, one of the only brands where 100% of the products are designed for athletes, by athletes, launched a new e-commerce marketplace for purchasing their high-end apparel.
Collegiate Apparel started when a group of college sports fans saw a gap in the industry for high-quality gear made for fanatics like them. They supported their favorite teams out of sheer admiration for the institution and their fellow students and players, and would do anything to wear their pride.
As both a fashion piece and homage to players, the Collegiate Sneaker design features two original concepts designed by the Collegiate Apparel team. Tier-1 is the standard Collegiate Sneaker featuring a school’s colors, primary athletic marks and significant jersey number(s). Tier-2 is to create a collector’s Collegiate Sneaker for select legendary athletes from their respective schools. Each Collegiate Sneaker features the athlete’s name, their collegiate jersey number, an autograph signature imprint and their school’s primary athletic marks. A biography with their college sports achievements and a serial number reflective of the institution’s founding date are also included with the packaging.
“If you’re a University Of Florida graduate, you are a Gator for life. It is part of who you are as a person and can never be taken away from you. It is as significant as one's family surname,” said Mr. McDonald Ferguson, Founder and Chief Designer.
The University of Florida approved the Collegiate Sneaker as an officially licensed collegiate product in November 2014. The website sells direct-to-consumer with future plans for their brand to be sold through select brick-and-mortar retail partners and other e-commerce websites and partners. The Collegiate Apparel design trend is obvious within a glance.
Past licensing experience includes licensure with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, Miami Hurricanes, Michigan Wolverines, Nebraska Cornhuskers, North Carolina Tar Heels, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma Sooners, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas Longhorns, UCLA Bruins and USC Trojans.
